In the past year, Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI) continued advancing initiatives to improve operational effectiveness, expand distribution, and strengthen our publishing infrastructure. These efforts reflect a disciplined, long‑term approach informed by industry standards, market conditions, and a commitment to quality content creation.
CPI maintained a balanced publishing strategy, supporting established liturgical works and backlist bestsellers while continuing to develop new offerings designed to broaden reach and relevance, reaching new thresholds in single-title sales. Several recent books demonstrated increased visibility through national and international media coverage, awards, events, and reviews. CPI also made progress in expanding licensing opportunities, including audio and translation rights, extending how content can be accessed across markets and formats.
Client care and accessibility remain central priorities. CPI completed a full website migration to a book industry-leading platform, improving usability and system integration. Participation in the Copyright Clearance Center streamlined permissions requests, particularly for churches and institutional users. CPI titles are now broadly available in both print and digital formats through national accounts, independent booksellers, libraries, and global online retailers.
CPI continued to assess tools and technologies to improve production efficiency and scalability while increasing the availability of electronic resources and expanding accessible formats, including large print.
Together, these developments support CPI’s ability to operate sustainably, respond responsibly to market change, and continue delivering high‑quality content that serves The Episcopal Church.
